Traditional Provider-Based Services
People receiving services through the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) waivers have the option to use traditional, provider-based services. The Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) partners with hundreds of private provider agencies across the state to deliver a wide range of specialized services.
If you or your loved one choose this service model, your Support Coordinator will guide you through the process of selecting a provider that best fits your needs. They will also coordinate the allocation of funds from your individual budget to the provider agency you select.
DSPD contracts with a large network of privately owned provider companies, such as Crossroads Youth & Adult Services—many of which specialize in specific types of services or focus on meeting the unique needs of individuals with particular disabilities. It’s important to know that you have the freedom to choose your provider and determine which services will offer the best care for your situation.
All provider agencies are certified and/or licensed by the state, and DSPD works closely with them to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the services they deliver.
